Fit-Up Welder

A Fit-up welder prepares full assemblies to be welded out completely with little issues for production welders.
Duties/Responsibilities: · Read schedules/prints and understands how to properly fit and weld out an assembly · Maintain quality programs and safely handle parts with cranes · Properly PM welders · Keep up with daily quotas and thru put · Performs other duties as assigned by Plant Manager or team lead · Provide information to management as needed · Correctly identify parts to ensure they go with complete assembly · Assist welders with technical questions if they arise · Stage parts accurately for next operation Required Skills/Abilities: · Team focused and team oriented · Confident decision making and forward thinker · Excellent verbal skills · Strong attention to detail is a must, along with organizational skills · Able to take direction and follow through to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner · Communicate well with employees and other members of management · Measuring and print reading · Problem Solving Education and Experience: · High School Diploma / GED · Technical Field preferred but not required.
· At least 3 years of manufacturing experience in the manufacturing industry.
Physical Requirements: · Must be able to lift up to 25+ pounds at times.
· Must maintain healthy and mental state of mind.
· Being exposed to extreme heat
