Location: Oak Ridge, TN Job Title: Y-12 Engineering DMD Project Engineer Career Level From: Specialist Career Level To: Advisor Organization: Y-12 Division Managed Design (51392268) Job Specialty: Proj Engineering - Technical What You'll Do As a Project Engineer in Y-12 Engineering Division Managed Design, you will be responsible for coordinating complex, multi-discipline engineering services in support of programs, projects and improvement activities of high importance to the organization.
Positions will directly support and report to either Y-12 Engineering Project Engineering Manager.
The Project Engineer ensures complete scope definition, budget and schedule for current and future activities requested by Programs and/or Facilities.
Coordinates across discipline managers and external support to facilitate completion of projects.
Identifies obstacles that may hinder ability to support the requested activities and recommends solutions to resolve those obstacles.

In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.

Preferred Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET.
Management or leadership experience showing the ability to lead a multi-discipline team through completion of a complex task.
Extensive technical expertise and full knowledge of related engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computers.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to various engineering disciplines.
Requires the ability to apply technical skills of engineering to the design, safety, and operation of facilities and/or processes within facilities; ability to prepare, read, and/or interpret complex engineering drawings and analysis; ability to conduct formal presentations to plant personnel and other interested parties; ability to review projects for technical accuracy; ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word Demonstrated technical capabilities, leadership, and work ethic Ability to work in a project team environment and communicate well with other disciplines, customers, and stakeholders Why Pantex and Y-12?
