WHAT ROLE INVOLVES
FUNCTIONAL ROLE
A Plumbing/Piping Foreman manages the day-to-day activities of the project while achieving lowest cost, adequate schedule, high quality and employee safety goals set by the Piping Superintendent and Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in Hand-off meeting with Project Manager and review all project documentation i.
e.
material take off, equipment and tool needs, specifications, drawings, overview of manpower requirements
Job mobilization
Manage day-to-day production and performance management for the plumbing team including entering time daily into timekeeping system, completely annual performance reviews and administering disciplinary action
Develop the daily production schedule.
Assign the production employees to the production tasks needed to achieve the schedule.
Make sure the production schedule finds the right balance between customer satisfaction, production costs, and safety
Closely coordinate production and material control functional activities.
Make sure the production employees work efficiently and in harmony co-workers and customers
Verifies work is being installed pre-scope, contract documents and specifications
Consistently plan and order material needed at least one week in advance.
Establish proper protocols for receiving and returning material and equipment timely.
Keep material organized on jobsite
Closely monitor production tracking report to ensure man-hours are within the project estimate
Constantly monitor actual progress versus the published production schedule and amend as needed.
Immediately inform the Piping Superintendent and Project Manager, or any other employees who are impacted by the changes
Coordinate activities with other trades to keep project on target for meeting established timelines.
Completion of all job site documentation i.
e.
Daily Reports, Time recording including correct coding, log books and Safety Tool Box Talks/Report
Submittal review and coordination with installation procedures
Keep as-built drawings updated weekly and keep drawings updated with daily progress
Provides leadership for Apprentices and Helpers when assigned and complete and submit apprentice work cards monthly
Coordinate startup of equipment
Complete punch list items if any within a timely manner
Participate in close-out meetings and prepare documentation for close out meetings
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Seven (7) plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS
Ability to use telecommunication devices while managing a job.
Skills include but are not limited to basic navigation of a smartphone, answering calls and emails, completing daily communication forms, being able to access Interstate's Employee Resources, use certain applications to access field drawings, etc.
The types of devices used typically include a smartphone, tablet and/or a laptop.
