Job Description
Primary metals company in the Knoxville, Tennessee area needs a Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years’ engineering experience with mechanical systems like overhead gantry cranes, facilities and industrial infrastructure, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, etc.
You will provide engineering support and leadership for Crane and below-the-hook device engineering and safety programs, leadership of the Crane Inspection Crew, and engineering support to maintenance and operations.
Design, install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial systems and equipment, including cranes, lifting and material handling, pumping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Provide technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems
Develop, manage and implement capital projects, major repairs and maintenance projects and provide mechanical engineering support to manufacturing and plant areas.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college/university.
Specific experience with CRANES.
Minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience with mechanical systems, including overhead gantry cranes, facilities and industrial infrastructure, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, etc.
Working knowledge of crane engineering, industry safety standards and related codes and specifications.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work with cross functional teams.
Working knowledge of heavy industrial equipment, including rolling mills and material handling equipment.
Experience with equipment and component failure analysis.
Skilled in capital equipment purchase justification, and capital project installations.
Engineering experience with cranes, hoists, rigging and below-the-hook lifting devices in heavy industrial environment.
Understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.
