*PURPOSE OF POSITION:* Performs a variety of basic general laborer duties such as mixing sand for use in molding, assisting personnel as needed, general vehicle and equipment maintenance, etc.
*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES* 1.
Receives oral and/or written instructions from Supervisor or other lead personnel.
Works under general supervision to carry out duties.
May direct efforts of entry level personnel as required by supervisor.
2.
Performs operations in a safe and efficient manner and maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment in accordance with standard practice.
3.
Provides process quality control (visual inspection and/or use of handheld instruments finished materials, etc.
) and communicates results to Supervisor.
4.
Move materials as needed using cranes, hand trucks, forklifts, etc.
5.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
Assists other personnel with non-routine maintenance.
6.
Mixes sand for molders.
7.
Maintains moisture content of sand and sand quality.
8.
Operates sand mullers, sand cutter, and pneumatic air hoses.
Uses shovels and other hand tools as needed.
9.
Assists in shakeout, moving weights and bands during metal pouring process.
10.
Assists in finishing area as required.
11.
Assists tool area in handling hammers or packing and shipping of tool orders.
12.
Acts as backup to tool area “packer and shipper” during busy times or in his absence.
13.
Occasionally makes non-critical cores.
14.
Ability to get along with others.
15.
Performs other tasks as required by management, crew leader, or senior level operators.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS *Education and/or Experience* · High school graduate or GED preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
*Language, Math, Reasoning Ability Skills* · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
*Other Skills & Abilities* Strong hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity; prior manufacturing experience highly desirable; ability to effectively communicate within a team environment; ability to cross train and effectively perform multiple functions within production manufacturing environment.
*Physical Demands & Work Environment* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
May be required to wear respirator while performing duties.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $21.
