PRIMARY FUNCTION The QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) Manager role is to guarantee safety and health for our customers, employees, operations, and our environment and to guarantee the totality of features and characteristics of our products, documentation, and services that bear on its ability to satisfy stated or implied needs of our customers and partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Updates the QHSE Policy each year and participates to build the 3-year plan.
Defines yearly targets and guarantees achievement (#accident, cost of poor quality, claims and dissatisfaction, reactivity) With sales, project, and engineering, participates to propose progress plan to continually please customer and meet their requirements.
Benchmarks competitors on quality and standards.
Deploys the annual QHSE Policy and related elements of the Neotiss Corporate Social Responsibility.
Be the window person for Quality and Service with key customers; manages daily/weekly communications in case of crisis or customer dissatisfaction.
Guarantees that Neotiss can deliver the expected quality and the quality of the product and documentation (technical specifications, contracts, RETA, OFDS, DATU, Quality Plan, PTF) With sales and project group, manages a monthly meeting with customer to report Customer Performance Report and continuous improvement, satisfying customers beyond contractual terms whenever possible.
Manages customer QRQC and guarantees reactivity (2 days, 7 days, 30 days).
Guarantees the customers’ requirements and quality/technical specifications are met and respected by suppliers.
Implements 5S principles throughout the facility.
Implements QHSE processes.
Manages quality system, performs internal and suppliers’ audits, prepare ISO9001 and other audits.
Guarantees laboratory results and immediate escalation in case of non-conformity of products.
Guarantees certifications for ISO9001.
Guarantees certification of welders, NDT operators and other key functions.
Proactively proposes other certifications needed for specific customer.
Guarantees every new employee is appropriately trained on QHSE and evaluated.
Defines a training plan for every Neotiss employee related to QHSE.
Guarantees sufficient versatility is obtained everywhere to prevent skill shortage.
Manages QHSE team, including laboratory.
Creates personal objectives for each member of the team.
Challenges each member of the team to get the best out of them.
Improves the organization of the team and guarantees all expectations from the team are met so that operations run smoothly in the plant and for customers, including meeting due dates for lab reports.
Manages departmental spending including lab spending.
Installs a customer-first and continuous culture for the team.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrate competency in relating complex procedural and technical problems in regulatory law and compliance procedures to operations, engineering and maintenance managers to assure site compliance with QHSE requirements such that they continue to meet business objectives.
This requires tact, demonstration of competency, and the ability to develop trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership skills in QHSE in the industrial sector.
Ability to manage claims resolution.
Experience in leading teams in the implementation of manufacturing process control, design of experiments, and other quality and process improvement tools.
Management experience with progressive responsibilities including successful supervisor experience of staff.
Experience should be equivalent to or leading to a department head position.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in formal and informal environments fostering positive working relationships internally and externally.
Open-mindedness, adaptability, autonomy, desire to drive change.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Analytical approach to problem solving.
Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects.
Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment.
Demonstrate a significant degree of interest in career and professional growth and demonstrate efforts to diversify own skills and knowledge base.
Working knowledge of quality, environmental and safety regulations and strong work ethic, hands-on approach to work, willingness to learn.
Must be able to speak, read and write English.
Minimum BA/BS degree, preferably in Engineering.
Advance degree a plus.
Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, CHMM or in process of achieving certification a plus.
Experience Required: Three to five years Preferred: Five+ years ACCOUNTABILITY Oversee the development and implementation of site QHSE procedures and programs.
Maintains and monitors the compliance assurance system including third party certifications/qualifications, permit status and requirements, methods, compliance calendar, and audits.
