Two Way Radio Technician

The following are required duties of this position: 1.
Repair and provide technical support for Low Band, VHF/UHF, and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, mobile and portable subscriber equipment, simulcast, conventional, trunking, and microwave systems.
2.
Installation, maintenance, and repair of base systems, repeaters, multiplexers, antenna systems.
3.
Install and maintain portable & mobile radio equipment.
4.
Troubleshooting, operational diagnosis and repairing electronic equipment, primarily two-way radios and related devices.
5.
Understand electronics as applied to vehicle voltage, sources, grounding, and mobile antenna systems.
6.
Maintain a system based (Excel) spreadsheet of inventory for all the agencies communications equipment etc.
7.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training Required: The following are the educational and/or training requirements for this position: 1.
Must be able to read and comprehend English language directives, training materials, and other documentation.
2.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3.
Must have an understanding of two-way radio equipment and systems or background in electronic equipment installations.
Experience Required: The following experience is required for this position: 1.
One (1)- Four(4) years of experience in programming and electronics troubleshooting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The following non-physical knowledge, skills and abilities are required for this position: 1.
Knowledge of department Policies and Procedures and General Orders.
2.
Knowledge of electronic circuit boards, processors, chips, and computer hardware and software applications.
3.
Wireless communication experience (two-way radio, Motorola cps systems & applications.
) 4.
Ability to read technical documentation and schematics Physical Abilities: The following physical ability(s) is/are required for this position: 1.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment 2.
Must be physically able to work in cramped quarters, in and around equipment, and have the manual dexterity to manipulate small parts and tools.
3.
Must have some soldering skills 4.
Must maintain the ability to work any hours, any shift and any days off.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $47,055.
