The Financial Controller manages the company’s finances, and completes processes such as payroll, reporting, and budgeting.
Staying up-to-date and accurate on financial entries, and communicates a clear, thorough picture of finances to the management team when needed or requested.
They are the primary support for the company’s accounting and operations teams - facilitating an efficient flow of information for accounting and project management.

*Performance Objectives* * Managing and streamlining accounting operations, including the monthly and yearly financial close.
* Preparing financial reports and analyzing financial data.
* Complete monthly close by the 10th of the following month.
* Complete bi-weekly bank reconciliations.
* Perform weekly cash flow forecasts.
* Ensure accounts receivable billing is never more than ninety days late, except for retainage on projects.
* Complete monthly billing forecasts.
* Develop an annual budget for the company broken down by department.
*Compliance Expectation* · Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
· Experience with Quickbooks.
· ProCore experience a plus, but not required.
· Experience in Construction Accounting and financial management required.
· Experience with Microsoft suites, specifically Excel and Outlook.

· Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization.
· Carries out financial tasks accurately and efficiently; protects organization’s value by keeping all information confidential.
· Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Pays employees by calculating pay and deductions for each employee.
· Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.

· Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.

· Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
· Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
· Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
· Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
· Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations.
· Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
· Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments.
· Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes.
· Develop budgets and regular forecasts for profit planning and cash flow planning with the assistance of management and other staff as necessary.
· Review financial statements; analyze relationship of current position to budget and make recommendations to the management team based on this information.
· Maintain accuracy of accounting data and financial statements.
· Prepare and implement changes where needed to current accounting policies and procedures.
· Make all adjusting and correcting entries to the General Ledger.
· File state sales and use tax returns.
· Close books at the end of each month.
· Request insurance certificates, bonds, etc.
· Conduct annual insurance audits.
· Keep subcontractor files accurate and up-to-date.
