Location: Oak Ridge, TN Job Title: Technical & Measurement Support Manager Career Level: Manager Organization: Nuclear Matls Cntrl & Account (50003143) Job Specialty: NMC&A What You'll Do Manages, plans, directs, and supervises 6 to 8 technical employees of various expertise in the Technical and Measurement Support Group of the Safeguards and Security's Nuclear Materials Control and Accountability (NMC&A) department.
Provides project management and technical leadership support to the activities of the group to ensure the implementation of the DOE requirements and BWXT Y-12 Plant initiatives.
Establishes goals and expectations and priorities and integrates work within the Technical and Measurement Support Group.
Reviews and approves plans and schedules for the activities of the group such as Inventory Verification/Confirmation, Measurements & Measurement control, SNM/Non-SNM checks, Holdup/Tank Measurements, and equipment selection.
Provides direction in solving of technical problems in the area of material accountability and materials control working with Technical and Measurement Support personnel and plant personnel.
Promotes an environment of cooperation and cohesiveness between multifunctional groups to ensure that there is DOE Order compliance for NMC&A activities.
Provides direct support to organizational projects and efforts such as revisions to the Material Control and Accountability plan, management assessments, procedure revisions, and training development.
Handles all personnel matters associated with the Technical and Measurement Support Group.
Interviews, makes hiring recommendations, evaluates performance, rewards and disciplines employees, and trains and develops staff.
Handles employee complaints and resolves problems.
Provides daily work direction and sets priorities.
This position requires considerable time in various nuclear operations areas within the Y-12 Complex.

OR fifteen or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory/management experience.
Preferred Job Requirements Must be able to understand models, perform measurements, and do quantitative and qualitative analysis of NDA data.
Holdup measurement experience is highly desirable.
NMC&A and Safeguards and Security experience is highly desirable.
Good analytical and problem solving skills are a must.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills required.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
The job level/title will be determined based on the education/experience of the selected incumbent.
Requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of current clearance status.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position will require entry into Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
