CNA- PCU
Responsibilities:
Follows department procedures for receiving and giving change of shift report.
Makes rounds on all assigned patients immediately after report.
Maintains tidiness of patient rooms and “on-stage” public areas.
Takes full set of vital signs and other allowed observations as authorized by RN and documents results promptly and accurately.
Immediately reports significant vital signs and/or changes in vital signs to RN.
Performs authorized duties and assists patients with activities of daily living as appropriate for age, developmental level, and condition.
Demonstrates effective time management for assigned tasks.
Demonstrates professionalism during all levels of interaction with patients, medical staff, colleagues and patient families/significant others.
Written communication is accurate, complete, legible, and timely.
Answers telephone and patient calls promptly and courteously using proper etiquette.
Takes accurate telephone messages and follows up verbally and/or in writing on all calls in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Must be able to withstand constant walking, standing, lifting at least 50 lbs.
or more, push/pull regulation hospital equipment, occasional sitting.
Must be able to function during periods of stress, and exposure to trauma and/or disease and have the requisite visual, auditory and fine motor skills.
CNA Certificate
