What You’ll Do:
Manage fleet coverage during extended hours by maintaining seated truck count, accurate driver PTA’s, keep driver turnover down.
Build and maintain quality relationships with drivers.
Ensure on time service is met; address possible service issues in a timely manner while coordinating with Customer Service and Load Planning departments.
Repower loads as needed.
Promote safe operations by monitoring hours of service compliance.
Remind driver of the importance of operating truck safety.
Insure fuel and routing compliance during extended hours.
Route drivers to terminal in order to address any performance issues.
Lead the conference by addressing issues with driver and establish ways to resolve.
Document all issues and resolutions.
Responsible for the general welfare of a driver while he/she is over the road.
Meet or exceed utilization expectation of the fleet by verifying the status of all drivers and addressing any service alerts.
Ensure driver compliance with all company policies and act as liaison for drivers with issues concerning other departments.
Advise driver how to route truck is weather conditions are had or if having health related issues.
Accurately input load and driver related information into the system
Instruct driver on where to pick up and deliver loads; provide accurate and detailed information regarding directions, load information, pick up/delivery times and other special load related information.
Other duties as assigned by management.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma
Experience
0-2 years operational experience
AS400 experience preferred
Skills/Certifications
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
Comprehensive knowledge of regulations impacting daily operations (DOT national and state)
Demonstrates a basic knowledge of US geography and the calculation of transit times across multiple US time zones
