The Group Facilitator is a highly qualified individual with experience regarding the nature of alcoholism and drug addiction.
Group Facilitators must have the ability to work as a team member and work collaboratively with the Primary Therapist and Clinical Director in providing quality treatment services and client care.
Duties/Responsibilities: · Utilize knowledge and skills to provide group psychotherapy, meeting the patient's treatment needs and requirements.
· Document client progress/regression according to established policies and procedures in a clear, concise, timely manner.
· Provide pertinent patient information to clinical team based on evaluation in group session interactions, to assist in the patient treatment process.
· Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
· Continue with educational courses and in-services training, per policies and procedures.
· Respond positively to changing situations in the work setting.
· Work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity.
· Perform in a professional manner and role models a positive image of mental health and substance use treatment.
· Work in a safety-conscious manner which ensure the safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or clients in the workplace.
· Complies with company policies and procedure and local, state, and federal regulations.
· Meets with the clinical director on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and or improving services · Has effective time management skills.
· Responsible to complete all group notes in a timely manner · Report abuse of patients' rights immediately.
Required Skills/Abilities: · Completes clinical group for patients, CBT, DBT, Psycho therapy and other proven clinical modalities.
· Counsel clients or patients, in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making change.
· Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans.
· De-escalates AMA and other patient problems.
· Conducts and documents a daily group for all patients.
Provides group on topics to include reviewing the orientation manual.
· Documents all activities in the patient medical record and files all notes in the charts on a daily basis for UR purposes.
· Maintains inventory of AA/NA literature and patient orientation manual with distribution to all patients.
· Attends daily staff meetings to enhance communication with clinical staff regarding program and patient issues.
· Participate in required staff training.
· Complete all assigned paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely manner.
· Complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner.
· Communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality patient care.
· Participate in maintaining clean, properly supplied and efficient work areas.
· Observe and report safety, maintenance problems.
· Interact appropriately with patients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries.
· Always maintain professional demeanor.
· Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage patient behavior.
· Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider.
Failure to comply with policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
· May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.
The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other operations.
· Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
· Performs other duties assigned.
Education and Experience: · CADC- preferred · 2+ years experience as a group facilitator in Substance Abuse and Mental Health settings · Bachelor's Degree in human services field preferred · Master's degreepreferred · LMHC/LCSW/Equivalent preferred · Minimum 1 year of full-time employment working in human services or in behavioral health sciences · Knowledgeable of State guidelines and Joint Commission standards · Must be familiar with 12 Step Recovery programs
