The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring all clinical documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory guidelines for our PN and RN programs.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will actively promote the mission, policies, and procedures of the institution while maintaining accurate records with each clinical facility.
The primary responsibilities of the Clinical Documentation Specialist include but are not limited to, collecting, reviewing, and auditing preceptor and clinical documents, auditing and verifying medical documentation of students, and executing clinical site confirmations/attestations with respect to the placement of students.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will work collaboratively with the clinical relations coordinator, faculty, program chairs, and administration to maintain the affiliation with clinical facilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Audit and Verification of Student Clinical Documents Job Responsibilities Collect, review and audit preceptor and clinical documents Audit and verify medical documentation of faculty and students Execute clinical site confirmations/attestations with respect to placement of students Assist with the planning, preparation and distribution of clinical, preceptorships and lab schedules and calendars for students and faculty Collaborate with clinical faculty and students to ensure completion of clinical orientations and site requirements Assist with tracking clinical attendance and coordinating make-up schedules per academic policy Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Preferred Qualifications/Competencies: Associate’s Degree or higher and/or extensive experience in healthcare Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to organize and prioritize workflow Ability to meet deadlines and work independently Detailed orientated Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word An outgoing, approachable style and a passion for helping others Exceptional organizational, listening, time management and teamwork skills
