SUMMARY:
The Homeschool Administrator is responsible for all operational functions of First Baptist Academy’s Homeschool umbrella program serving Kindergarten through 12th grade.
This program works in conjunction and collaboration with the FBA campus.
She/he reports directly to the Director of Academics and Christian Virtue and works collaboratively with the Head of School regarding legal or business aspects of the program.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
Vision
Ensure alignment with the vision and mission of FBA
Guide the strategic planning of the FBA Homeschool umbrella program
Leadership and Management
Coordinate all aspects of implementation and management of the academic and enrichment programs offered through the FBA homeschool umbrella
Be the primary contact for the maintenance and development of the academic programs and ensure compliance with any state and school mandated testing requirements
Manage daily organization and activities to ensure efficiency while achieving desired student outcomes
Supervise enrollment, transfer, and disenrollment of students
School/Homeschool Communication
Work closely with homeschool families, students, and school administration to achieve efficiency in administration and opportunities for bettering academic performance
Establish and maintain open communication between the homeschool families, teachers, and administration
Advise parents on curriculum options, resources for diagnostic educational testing, managing re-entry to a traditional classroom setting (if desired), and testing opportunities
Provide academic counseling to homeschool families about student progress and the program’s requirements, policies and expectations as needed
Provide in-person informational meetings for all potential homeschool families who are either new to homeschooling or transitioning from our K-8 to our 9-12 program
Represent the Homeschool Umbrella program positively in all conversations with staff, families and the community
Serve as Homeschool liaison to the School Board and attend school board meetings, as necessary
Administrative
Maintain accurate records for all student files
Communicate with colleges for the purpose of sharing transcripts
Prepare students/families for graduation
Ensure students meet all state education requirements
Take shared responsibilities for the management of the budget for the homeschool umbrella and ensure effective budget management and monitoring for the program while working closely with the FBA administration and school board
Other duties as assigned by direct Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to help others find and follow Jesus
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university OR equivalent experience
Adhere to the Statement of Faith and mission and philosophy of FBA
Commitment to accountability, including a homeschool program with rigorous academic requirements as a reflection of FBA
Experience or familiarity with data management and presentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
Ability to work respectfully with diverse groups in the community
Strong interpersonal skills to assist in working with students, parents and other staff members
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Homeschool experience (preferred)
Required to be a church member within 6-months of hire date
