- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students in accordance with the curriculum .

*\*School Background* Angela Floyd School for Dance and Music, LLC is a privately owned school that was founded in 1997.
We have 2 locations in the Knoxville, Tennessee area.

We are Knoxville’s largest dance and music teaching school with over 700 students attending weekly classes between our 2 locations.
We cater mainly to children.
About 90% of our students are between 2 and 16 years old.
We welcome adult students but our suburban market area has resulted in a student base of mainly children.

We realize that most of our students will not become professional musicians or dancers.
We strive to provide a fun but educational environment with well-organized administration and first rate equipment and facilities.

* Full time administrative support\*\* In many studios there is no receptionist on duty.
This means that the teachers are faced with administration details when they should be concentrating on teaching.
We have full time front desk administrative staff during class times to handle routine questions and details that arise.
* NEW! Floating Marley dance floors in all studios\*\* We use professional floating Marley dance floors in all of our studios.
Our dance floors rest on a system of 700 high density foam blocks.
This dance floor helps prevent injuries and fatigue.
A good quality floor is a consideration if you are going to be teaching for a few hours each day.
A supportive quality floor allows you to protect your most important assets – your body and your ability to teach.

Teachers are not required to collect any fees or do any costume measuring.
We have a full time administrative staff that takes care of all the Dance Spring Concert and Competition Company needs.

Candidates must have an excellent and friendly personality, and love working with small children through adults.

* A degree in dance is a plus, but advanced level training in a regional or professional dance company, university company, competition performance experience and or teaching experience is needed.

* *This is a contract position, for August 1, 2024 - June 1, 2025 with an option to extend the contract.
Training can start as soon as you are hired with the option to start subbing immediately and be on the schedule for June/July 2024 as well.

* We have over 700 students both recreational and competitive dancers that take class in classical ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, and contemporary/lyrical and music.

We offer full-time office staff during all class times.
Your responsibility is to instruct classes and choreograph group routines for performances.
You will not be responsible for any office duties.
