The Office of the University Registrar at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Assistant Registrar for Degree Conferral position.

The Position:
This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.
Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Educational Planning, this position provides effective management, support, and strategic leadership in the daily operations of the degree conferral functions of the Office of the University Registrar.
The position also manages and provides direction for all aspects of UTK's diploma procurement and distribution as well as assists with commencement ceremony preparations.
The Assistant Registrar for Degree Conferral works closely with senior staff within the division, the UTK Undergraduate Council, college deans and advising directors, faculty, academic department staff, and administrative offices in the coordination of student academic and enrollment services.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree
• Three (3) years of progressive, professional responsibility in higher education
• Direct experience with student information systems
• Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Demonstrated experience in providing leadership in the management, security, and storage of academic records
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's Degree
• Five (5) years of progressive, professional responsibility in higher education
• Direct experience working in a registrar's office or academic advising capacity
• Experience with Banner SIS and familiarity with SACS accreditation

• Outstanding customer service skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of degree conferral best practices
• Knowledge of the UTK undergraduate curriculum approval process
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret UTK academic policies and FERPA
• Ability to lead change and apply process improvements necessary to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to organize and perform oral presentations to diverse audiences

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics.
