The Corrections Vocational Instructor plays a vital role in the mission through providing assessment and targeted vocational instructional services to offenders.
Key responsibilities may include: Provide classroom and performance based instructional services.
Adhere to supporting curriculum Set expected learning outcomes Prepare lesson plans Record student attendance and track in the Kentucky Offender Management System Enter and maintain student records, scores and completion dates Submit Program Completion certificates Supervise teachers’ aides and tool room clerks Maintain safe and secure learning environment Maintain classroom equipment and supplies If you are seeking to further your career in a rewarding environment, where you can make a difference please apply today! Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three (3) years of trade-related experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the trade-related experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.
): NONE Working Conditions Work is typically performed in a classroom/shop setting within a correctional institution.
Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.
