We have an opportunity for a top candidate to join Maryville College’s staff as the new Enrollment Counselor.
As an Enrollment Counselor, you would work closely with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, as this position is responsible for counseling and enrolling prospective freshman students at Maryville College.
Your primary job duties and responsibilities would include: Serve as the liaison between Maryville College and assigned geographic territory to recruit new students to the College.
Serve as a team member on interoffice committees.
Provide feedback and recommendations on current recruiting trends and social media presence.
Develop recruitment plans for assigned territory including but not limited: attending college fairs, scheduling private visits at high schools, one-on-one meetings with prospective students and families, information drop-offs at targeted high schools and organizations.
Recruit prospective students through college fairs/programs, schools, businesses, churches, and other professional contacts both locally and regionally.
Review, process, and evaluate applications and transcripts for admission and academic scholarship recommendations.
Maintain effective communication with prospective students and applicants regarding admission and enrollment processes.
Provide follow-up for prospective students including telephone calls, emails, texts, and letters.
Input student and applicant data into various student information systems.
Connect prospective students and applicants with appropriate on-campus offices to assist with questions and processes.
Provide support for campus tours, open houses, orientations, and other recruitment events on campus for prospective students and their families as needed.
Assist in the planning and development for on-campus admission programs.
Give admissions-related presentations to tour groups, school groups, and prospective students.
Maintain a positive working relationship with faculty, staff, and students within the Maryville College community.
Minimum qualifications for this job required are: Education required to ensure success in this position: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience required to ensure success in this position: 2+ years of experience in higher education required.
Demonstrated understanding of the liberal arts and church-related college environment.
Previous experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) products.
Ability and willingness to learn office specific software applications.
Special skills, knowledge and abilities: Ability to work independently as well as part of a group.
