This role exists to support the Operations Senior Team Lead with various operating procedures to include, but not limited to initial and on-going training of lifeguard staff, motivating and coaching of lifeguards and other operator positions and assisting in daily park opening and closing procedures.
SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide coaching of lifeguard and other operator positions in and around water attractions.
Assist in the development and implementation of lifeguard in-service presentation and schedules.
Assist in the development and communication of park-wide safety programs.
Maintain training documents to include, but not limited to, in-service attendance documentation.
Assist in daily park opening and closing procedures.
Motivate and reward Host performance.
Respond to guests’ verbal comments in a friendly manner.
Be a positive role model in the areas of attitude, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Visually observe guest and host actions and ride operation to prevent safety hazards.
Create a positive first and last impression for park visitors by empowering the Aquatics Team to exceed in Guest Service, Friendliness and Attention to Detail within all areas of responsibility.
Report all unsafe acts to appropriate management.
Assist in emergency situations including water rescue and CPR.
Assume Lifeguard job duties as needed or assigned.
Keep work area and park clean and attractive.
Follow All Host Safety Standards and General Safety Training guidelines and use associated injury prevention measures.
Suspend operations when continuation would be inconsistent with Safety Standards or Procedures or presents a safety hazard to Guests or Hosts.
Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES Able to smile and make eye contact to make a friendly impression when greeting guests, vendors and other Hosts.

Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to tolerate temperatures of 0 to 140 degrees and work primarily outdoors.
Able to have minimum of 20/25 or 20/25 corrected vision with no permanent abnormalities of either eye.
Able to achieve 20/25 corrected vision while wearing sunglasses.
Able to successfully complete Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program: Able to swim at least 200 yards without resting Able to retrieve a 10 lb.
diving brick from a depth of at least 8 feet Able to tread water for 2 minutes without using hands or arms Able to pass a fifty question, multiple choice test at 80% or better Able to speak in front of both small and large groups.
Able to perform basic computer tasks.
Able to sit, walk, run, and stand on concrete, uneven surfaces, and in the water for long periods.
Able to climb steps with good balance.
Able to operate two-way radio.
Able to maintain stamina in all weather conditions: direct sun, rain, wind, high humidity, etc.
Able to bend, twist, and/or stoop for continuous periods.
Able to quickly react in emergency situations.
Able to tolerate noise and heights.
Required Experience Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must successfully complete Ellis and Associates Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program vanGUARD eLearning and GST Train the Trainer.
Minimum of two seasons of lifeguarding experience required, water park experience preferred.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check including drug screen.
