Surgery:
Parkwest Surgery is a growing cutting edge facility.
The latest expansion will total 30 surgery suites.
Specialties include orthopedics, cardio-vascular, robotics, gyn and urology services.

Position Summary:
Responsible for daily operational functions of the Peri-Operative technician staff.
Observes staff and addresses job performance concerns in accordance to policy and procedures.
Accountable for new employee orientation, training, CQI participation, assisting the charge nurses and/or service coordinators with special projects, employee evaluations, and work scheduling.
Consistently applies knowledge of Peri-Operative cleaning practices and assists the Peri-Operative patient care team with maintaining a clean, well organized, adequately stocked, and safe patient environment.

Responsibilities:
Performs all position accountabilities and performance criteria for Peri-Op tech levels I & II
Monitors dispatch and/or Flowboard communications.
Responds to assistance requests.
Performs quality control measures for the Peri-Op tech group, i.
e.
, performance reporting, response times, Flowboard audits, and CQI.
Provides support service to assist with smooth operation and coordination of care for surgical services patients
Works in conjunction with surgery manager and/or director on performing employee evaluations and positive recognition.
Ensures sanitation and maintenance of Peri-Op equipment.
Informs charge nurse or service coordinator of any potential concerns or need for replacement.
Serves as a liaison between the Peri-Op staff at surgery leadership.
Serves on committees as requested or required.
Demonstrates proficiency in anatomy/physiology terminology, procedural protocol, and infection
Responsible for ensuring departmental compliance with all policies and procedures of the health system as set forth in the Human Resources and Administrative Policies and Procedures Manuals.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Completes required education assignments annually.
Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
Preference may be given to individuals possessing an Associate’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year supervising task specific work groups or service-related employees with healthcare experience.
Licensure Requirement:
Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license Class D and state mandated minimum insurance coverage.
Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
