Acclaimed as one of the Gatlinburg area’s finest restaurants, the dining component of Buckhorn Inn has earned a well-deserved reputation for its southern-influenced menusand fresh, seasonal offerings.
As well as breakfast, the Inn serves a fixed menu dinner to 36 guests at one seating each evening, and it is this aspect of our culinary offerings for which we are seeking a new employee.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of our Executive Chef to prepare and present dinner on five evenings each week.
The Executive Chef will provide an intensive training period so that the successful candidate will understand how food is to be prepared and presented.
Once trained, the successful candidate will have more opportunity to work collaboratively with the Executive Chef in the creation of new menus.
Duties of this position include:
Prepare freshly baked bread, soup, entrée and sides, and dessert according to the Executive Chef’s menu and recipes.
Menus vary throughout the various seasons of the year.
It will sometimes be necessary to prepare vegetarian, gluten-free, or other special dishes in addition to the main menu.
Prepare delicious food and plated beautifully to the satisfaction of the Executive Chef and and which meets our quality standards.
Ensure that all courses are ready to be served at the appropriate time.
Provide necessary guidance to the wait staff to enable them to present and serve each dish in the best way possible.
Resourcefully solve any issues that arise during the course of dinner and seize control of any problematic situations.
All cooks and chefs at Buckhorn Inn are responsible for cleaning their pots, pans, implements, equipment and area.
Report to the Executive Chef on supplies used so he can order inventory appropriately.
Comply with and enforce strict sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests.
