Summary: Currently looking for a teacher for our infant room.
7am-4pm Christian Center with children from 6 weeks to 6 years old.
We work with the Maryville City and Blount County school calendar which offers several unpaid breaks throughout the year.
Fall break, Christmas break, Spring Break, Summer Break, then only working Thursdays and Fridays for 6 weeks during summer.
Our focus is on providing a nurturing environment to assist in spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and educational goals.
We have an outstanding group of teachers that have a history of longevity.
Many of our children are from parents who attended here as children themselves.
We have several support staff that assist with your needs, so you are never on your own! Must strive to encourage every child to explore their world and their own capabilities, be reliable, enjoy working with others, and be a positive resource.
Minimum requirements per State licensing guidelines:
At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or a GED
Background check
Health screening, must be able to lift at least 40 lbs, and mentally capable of working with children.
Approximately 13 hours of online courses before hiring and continuous education required (most provided free of charge)
Must obtain Adult, Child, Infant CPR and First Aid Training within 120 days
Additionally:
Conduct Parent / Teacher Conferences - sometimes after normal work hours.
Demonstrate professional habits and comply with all licensing guidelines, including accurate records and forms.
Be prepared to lead children in prayer and teach biblical principals.
Be able to work independently in a classroom setting and following classroom schedule.
Able to sit on ground and get up and down from floor frequently.
Able to design a lesson plan to address the children’s developmental needs.
Cultivate positive relationships and frequent communication with parents and conduct conferences with compassion and knowledge of appropriate expectations of children.
Ensure proper hygiene of children and sanitation of classroom.
May be required to work with children of all ages, attend after hours meetings and weekend trainings, change diapers, assist with toileting needs, clean bodily fluids, and other tasks as needed.
Must be able to leave phone and any personal media time to breaks only.
