Education and Experience: High School/GED, Degree requirements, prior experience preferred, but not required Duties require minimal decision-making Must successfully complete all technical, administrative, and interpersonal training programs New incumbents will be allowed up to 30 days to demonstrate skill and ability to perform the job Competencies and Skills: Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions) Basic computer skills preferred Basic problem-solving skills Knowledge of general cleaning solutions and janitorial equipment Safely operate motorized vehicles Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Clean and sanitize assigned facility locations, including bathrooms & locker rooms which include vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping Restock soap dispensers/supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas Empty all trash cans, replace liners and clean receptacles as necessary in all offices areas and bathrooms/locker rooms Wash windows and dust all surfaces Maintain janitorial closets in a safe, clean and organized manner Maintain a thorough inventory of supplies & report shortages Report any safety or sanitary issues/repairs needing attention to supervisor Paint designated areas if needed Shovel snow & spread salt at doorways and sidewalks during storm events Provide emergency response to accidents or spills throughout the facility Operate commercial floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners and floor buffers Assist in setting up/ breaking down employee events Assist in coverage for staff shortages resulting in working overtime or off-shift May be required to assist in other capacities in facilities department NOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive.
