Role description: We are currently seeking a Transportation Health & Safety Specialist in Arcadis U.
S.
who will continue to support our vision to Zero incidents.
This position requires promoting teamwork, embracing challenges, prioritizing objectives, and developing proactive solutions.
This position will also be responsible for composing technical procedures by collaborating with leadership to gain a thorough understanding of each Business Areas (BAs) operation.
This position can be based anywhere in the U.
S.
Some travel will be required to complete a variety of H&S related assignments.
This role will sit in the Enabling Functions Team.
Our Enabling Functions span H&S, HR, Legal, IT and beyond.

Role accountabilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Full-time assignment involving periods of (~25%) travel to complete a variety of health and safety-related assignments.
Further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector, to facilitate personal networking and develop personal credibility in industry.
Support programs related to Department of Transportation regulatory compliance including providing administrative and technical support related to hazardous material shipping, commercial motor vehicles, railroad safety, traffic control safety and aviation safety.
Support the Arcadis US Health & Program by helping with day-to-day management of the safety program including but not limited to motor vehicle safety, injury reporting and management, safety management system support, safety vendor management, and other H&S program related task Provide technical and regulatory direction, guidance, and implementation of health and safety standards.
Ensure training records, health/safety Standards or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
Provide guidance in personal protective equipment selection.
Complete ergonomic evaluations and provide guidance to staff regarding their workstation set up.
Identify appropriate training mechanisms and develop and deliver training programs (with oversight and support provided, as necessary) educating staff on health and safety.
Develop presentation and training materials.
Lead health and safety trainings.
Perform worker and task observations to identify questionable behaviors.
Work with teams to develop appropriate solutions to mitigate site hazards.
Help gather and analyze leading and lagging health and safety statistics from all offices and project sites across North America.
Participate in and/or lead incident investigations.
Complete periodic office audits virtually and in person.
Desired skills for the position include: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations including but not limited to air, hazardous and solid waste, water, chemical and petroleum bulk storage, environmental assessments, RCRA, SARA, and CERCLA Hazardous material shipping experience in the ground and air modes Commercial motor vehicle experience Familiarity with construction site hazards and hazard mitigations Knowledge of OSHA Federal health and safety regulations Strong technical writing and written communication skills Strong organization and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism Developing specialty in at least one area of HS (e.
g.
, LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Fire Protection, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, hazardous materials) Act as safety professional and safety leader Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, or related), Environmental Science, or a related discipline preferred.
5+ years of relevant experience preferred Preferred Qualifications: 10 hr.
OSHA Construction or 30 hr.
OSHA Construction 40-Hour Hazwoper Trained Experience in Oil and Gas Health and Safety Knowledge of Management Systems (ISO 14001, 50001, 18001) Experience Health and Safety Auditing Registrations/Certifications : ASP, CIH, CSP, CDGP, etc.

The salary range for this position is $70,800 - $101,775.
