00/HR NON-NEGOTIABLE*
*Provide front-line customer service in person and/or by telephone to refer customers to appropriate office or staff.
Perform related work including insurance verification, authorization and general data entry.
Employees in this classification will spend approximately 80% of their time greeting visitors and answering the telephone.
Typically, office support tasks will comprise 70% of total work time.
This position requires sufficient speech and hearing acuity to perform office work.
Some positions may involve standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 30 pounds.
Must have at least a moderate speed when doing Data Entry.
This is a big part of this job.
Must be able to use a keyboard appropriately.

*DETAIL OF DUTIES:*
*-Greet and direct patients to appropriate area or staff.
*
*-Operate a central telephone console or multi-line system to receive and route calls.
This involves recording telephone messages, screening calls as directed, asking questions to determine customers needs, and directing visitors to appropriate staff or department.
Incumbents in these positions may perform basic office support functions such as keyboarding, filing, and record keeping, but this is not considered the primary function of the position .

*-Employees may provide non-technical information or instructions for form completion, receive money and issue receipts, and perform mailing activities, as well as support other Tristar Physical Therapy, LLC administrative staff as directed.
*
*-Must be cognizant of and responsible for all front line confidentiality requirements according to the HIPAA Policies and Procedures of Tristar Physical Therapy.
Telephones and interviews patients and/or family members to obtain accurate pre-registration information and to confirm appointments.
*
*-Conducts patient interviews regarding Tristar Physical Therapy fees billing procedures, financial policy, and insurance information.
Ensures that patient visits and procedures are pre-authorized by third party payors, managed care organizations and HMOs.
*
*-Acquires signature of patient and/or family member, as appropriate, on all required patient forms, including HIPAA Forms.
*
*-Maintains all patient forms, documentation of verifications, etc.
for patient records.
*
*-Verifies eligibility and benefits for each patient.
*
*-Maintains familiarity with various types of medical insurance.
*
*-Assists patients or family members with completion of medical insurance forms.
*
*-Informs patients of costs of care being provided, and guides them to appropriate resources for further information, guidance or assistance.
*
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
*Experience: answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette; greeting individuals and providing information, in person or by telephone, in a business setting, general computer skills.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
*
*SPECIALTY AREAS:*
*Position may require experience operating a multiple-line telephone system; experience accessing data using a computerized records system; experience making change and cashiering, fluency in one or more of the following: speaking, writing, reading both Spanish and English.
